The company says the secret to its bagels is in its Brooklynized water.
In case you're not sure what the heck that means, many people say the reason why New York bagels and pizza taste so damned superior is because of the New York City municipal water used in the process.
The Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. installs a mini-water treatment plant inside every location, which turns South Florida water into a close replica of authentic New York tap water. The best thing about this purification process? The company pledges to help local residents by giving them free water (up to five gallons) in case of a boil-water announcement (which happens all too frequently in South Florida).
The company has some heavy hitters behind it. Advisory board members include chef Allen Susser, Snapple cofounder Leonard Marsh, and retired talker Larry King. Fans include Barbra Streisand, who recently catered a wrap party with the bagels, according to South Florida Business Journal.
The new Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. is located at Stirling Square Plaza, 2877 Stirling Road, Hollywood.
