Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar's Anniversary, Thanksgiving, and Other Events This Week & Weekend in Broward, Palm Beach Counties

Yep. That sounds about right.

​This is a pretty quiet week in terms of food and drink events in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Well, except for that whole Thanksgiving thing that's said to be taking place on Thursday. Maybe you've heard?

While the calendars remain pretty sparse this week and through the weekend, there are of course, always options in South Florida for those who are looking.

Thanksgiving Eve, about on par with New Year's Eve and St. Patrick's Day in terms of drinking holidays, will be a prime time for college students and the young at heart to hit the bars. That being said, Thanksgiving Eve is also an excellent time to look into getting a designated driver or calling a cab, especially if you plan on hitting Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar in Boca Raton for what is sure to be a raucous anniversary party with plenty of tequila and dancing.

Without further ado, a look at the food and drink events offered during Thanksgiving week in Broward and Palm Beach Counties:
 
Wednesday:

Rocco's Boca Second Anniversary -- Rocco's Tacos and Tequila Bar in Boca Raton is celebrating its two year anniversary with a massive party from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. In addition to a mariachi band and DJ, owner Rocco Mangel can be expected to do his usual tequila dance on the bar. When he's up there, patrons at the bar get free shots of Patron. Other drink specials and giveaways planned for the evening.

Thanksgiving Eve party at Caliente Kitchen -- Drink specials and music from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Caliente Kitchen in Delray Beach. No cover charge.

18th Annual Cranberry Jam -- The Young Professionals for Covenant House are hosting a T-Day Eve bash from 6 to 11 p.m. in the YOLO plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Tickets are $15 to $30. Details on rules and pricing are available at the purchase website. The event includes a culinary showdown with samplings from local restaurants. 

Thursday:

Thanksgiving in a restaurant -- Not cooking at home? Thanksgiving dinner is available at various restaurants in Palm Beach County and Broward County/Fort Lauderdale - but act fast. Reservations are required in most cases.

Thanksgiving Banquet and Block Party -- As part of a larger effort in South Florida, Broward Outreach Centers -- in Pompano and Hollywood -- will host a Thanksgiving meal and festivities for the homeless or those who are otherwise in need. The meal is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at both locations, with meals served from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The event also includes a variety of services, like free clothing and hygiene products for families in need, as well as entertainment and other giveaways.

Decompression wine hour at Blind Monk -- If you need to step away from the family time for a few hours, head to The Blind Monk in West Palm Beach from 4 to 7 p.m. for some wine and fellowship of the non-familial kind.  

Saturday:

Roxy's Beerfest -- Roxy's Pub in West Palm Beach will mark its anniversary with the Third Annual Beerfest from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $20 for advance tickets. Entry entitles you to samples of the more than 50 craft beers available.
