After Hours Eats with Michelle Bernstein (And Thanksgiving Recipes!)

On her Twitter feed this week, Bernstein offers her family's go-to Thanksgiving recipes: a garlic-citrus marinated roast turkey; toasted challah and chorizo stuffing; citrus sherry cranberry sauce, a crispy and creamy green bean casserole, and roasted chile potato pancakes. In the few evenings she has to herself, Bernstein hits up these Broward and West Palm Beach restaurants.
"One of my favorite restaurants in South Florida," said Bernstein of the six-table French-Japanese restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Chef Iwoa Kaita's cooking is "creative, light, delicious and so perfect."
"I love a perfect steak and they do it so well. And the general manager, Angela Nowland is the best," she said.
"This is the best Mexican!" says Bernstein of the Yucatan-inspired, seafood-focused restaurant in Deerfield Beach. "Everyone there is so nice, the food is delicious and we can get our Mexican fix."
"Creative beautiful food, lively place, chef run and very special place," said Bernstein of the Delray Beach bistro. With dishes such as pan roasted Mississippi quail with chorizo and corn, chef Nick Morfogen offers elevated, fine dining fare.

"Always such a beautiful experience from the service to the food. And I love how seasonal it is," said Bernstein of the fine dining destination now helmed by executive chef Jim Leiken, who took over from Zach Bell this past summer.
