For the
14th-Annual New Times Beerfest, folks over here have been pulling together what's on tap for this year's event on November 12 from 7 to 11 p.m. in Esplanade Park, proceeds from which will benefit the
Humane Society of Broward County.
Among my favorites are Shiner Blonde and Oktoberfest, Brooklyn Lager, a variety from Shipyard, and of course the lowly Budweiser (that's so maligned by commenters on this blog). The event
will also feature cans from Narragansett and PBR as well as pours from Asahi, Chang, and Tiger for those nostalgic for their last trip to Asia.
Check back with us after Sunday, when I'm sitting down with Garrett Oliver, brewmaster for Brooklyn Brewery and editor for
The Oxford Companion to Beer, to talk suds and fest drinking strategies, among other things.
In the meantime, you can purchase tickets for Beerfest for $30 ahead of time for regular admission or $70 for VIP tickets
here.
