The visit, from noon to 2 p.m., is part of Burrell's cross-country tour in support of her recently released cookbook, Cook Like a Rock Star: 125 Recipes, Lessons, and Culinary Secrets. If the book's intro is any indication, you can expect the recipes to employ the down-to-earth tone for which Burrell is known, with such insights as "I'm going to help you to understand why you brown the crap out of things (because brown food tastes good)" and "playing with fire and knives is dangerous, and I do it wearing a skirt and a smile."
To attend the book signing, you've got to purchase a copy of the book ($27.95, plus tax) from Williams-Sonoma. There are two ways you can get on "the list." One is to buy the book in the store and bring it with you (after making sure your name is on the list) to the event on Tuesday.
Or call the store and order a copy of the book using your credit card. You then will pick up the book at "will call." There are only 200 spots that have been made available for the event, so you probably need to jump on this if interested. Call 561-799-2425 to secure a spot or for more details about the event.
