August Is National Sandwich Month -- Here's How to Celebrate
| The lazy - but genius - solution to dinner. |
How to celebrate this monthlong food holiday? Pick up a hearty sandwich at a local favorite like -- Talia's Tuscan Table in Boca Raton, Manny's Bakery in Coral Springs, or Mr. Nick's Sub Shoppe in Fort Lauderdale -- or try a new bread-friendly creation in your own kitchen. If you're struggling for something more interesting than peanut butter and bacon, try the "Sandwiches, Wraps, and Paninis" class offered at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 27, at Publix Apron's Cooking School.
The class will teach you how to make fancy 'wiches, including: grilled cheese and short rib with caramelized red onions and arugula; smoked Gouda, roasted tomato, and prosciutto panini; grilled skirt steak and pepper sandwich; portobello wraps with avocado, watercress, and goat cheese; and a plum and Brie panini. The cost is $40 per student. Registration is required.
We want to hear from you. What's your favorite sandwich or sandwich spot in Broward or Palm Beach counties?
