Miami Culinary Institute's New Garden

The garden is situated at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus of the Miami Culinary Institute. The idea behind the new garden is to change how culinary students come to know their ingredients. Gabriele Marewski, who heads Paradise Farms helped create the living classroom model.
What's in the garden? Well, there over 40 different fruits, 30 different herbs and a variety of edible flowers and tropical shrubs.
Culinary students will be directly involved in planting and harvesting their food. Food scraps from the student kitchens will be turned into compost.
The garden is located on the southeast corner of NE 6th St. & NE 1st Ave. During Saturday's opening, light refreshments will be served.
