Gyroville: Casual, Fast Greek Now in Boca Raton

Everyone deserves a chance to eat like a god.

And your chance has come in the form of Gyroville, the expanding South Florida Greek restaurant chain from owner, founder, and executive chef Lambros Kokkinelis.

He's even named his "fast, fresh" menu items after Zeus, Hera, and Athena, giving you god-like food at an affordable price -- something you mere mortals can certainly appreciate.




Although you won't find ambrosia on the menu, you will find a unique take on classic favorites at the newest Gyroville location in Boca Raton. 

Gyroville is all about fast, casual, and healthy -- something Kokkinelis envisioned through his "Greek fusion" offerings -- a melting pot of Mediterranean influences that combines creative flavor combinations for a revelatory sharpening of familiar Greek flavors.

Especially intriguing -- and worth the trip to any of the closest locations -- are Kokkinelis' enhanced tzatziki sauces. Boldly studded with unique, nontraditional additions like roasted red pepper, jalapeño and spinach, and caramelized onion and pineapple, each is like a small bomb setting off a taste explosion over your taste buds.

The fast and fresh part comes in the form of choice, or create-your-own variations of salads, pitas, bowls, and wraps that let you customize everything from stuffing and toppings to sides and sauce, found at the pick-as-you-go counter of accouterments ($5.99 to $7.99). Think of ordering gyros as if you were ordering a burrito at Chipotle.

More substantial fare comes in the form of main plates: specialty sandwiches named after the Greek gods (about $6), platters with heaping portions for vegetarians and meat lovers alike ($9.99), and sides priced $2 to $4.

Charlie dove right in, opting for the Poseiden, one of Kokkinelis' six "famous" Greek sandwiches. This one comes stuffed to the bursting point with melt-in-your-mouth Cajun grilled mahi swimming in a sea of feta cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, peppers, and Greek dressing, all nestled in a warm pita.

All that's left to do is choose your favorite tzatziki side (or get a sample of all four) and dip your hunger away.
