Florida Restaurant, Skyline Chili, Bans Casey Anthony Jurors for Delivering "Not Guilty" Verdict

Florida restaurant bans Casey Anthony jurors
No shoes, no shirt, no service. That's usually where restaurant owners draw the line when it comes to turning away hungry patrons.

But how about "not welcome" for a "not guilty," verdict?

Sure, the twelve jurors from the Pinellas County Casey Anthony trial have left a bad taste in many people's mouths. And that's certainly true for Clearwater Skyline Chili restaurant owner, John McClure.

On the door to his Cincinnati-based chain establishment, one of five Skyline Florida locations, McClure posted a very clear message with a hand-written note that reads: "Pinellas County jurors NOT welcome!"

McClure told local news reporters he posted the sign because he wouldn't be able to visually identify the Anthony trial jurors to keep them from entering his restaurant. He also wants customers to know where he stands in regards to jurors finding Anthony not guilty of murder Tuesday in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

But McClure shouldn't really be worried about banning certain people. Most likely, patrons will steer clear of his establishment on their own. After all, how many people can be craving fast-food quality chili -- especially during the dog days of summer?

The Nancy Grace mentality; in law, we go by evidence rather than feelings. If we want to admit it or not, Casey Anthony is one crafty killer or the situation worked in her favor. Casey was able to by her some time and with the help of a lazy cop, she was able to allow her child's body to rot and more time was lost when police officer didn't take the time to investigate mysterious trash bag. Time is a factor when it comes to decomposing bodies. But how do we know little Caylee didn't drown and Casey didn't panic? Disposed of her body and put duct tape and made it look like a murder? They couldn't give a reason for how she died. That's why she walked. They couldn't prove if Casey's

They should ban the prosecutors for allowing such "reasonable doubt" for a conviction. Granted the case was tried in the Public Court of Nancy Grace, et al, over the last couple years so most people probably expected a slam-dunk guilty and off to death row for Tot Mom. Don't blame the jury; blame the prosecutors for not making a solid case.

Obviously, a lot of folks who posted do not know what they are talking about.  Skyline Chili is known by most well traveled, intelligent people as one of the best fast food restaurants in the country.  The owner doesn't have to worry about any of the jurors coming to his restaurant. Since they found Casey Anthony not guilty of the worst crime, they aren't smart enough to know that Skyline is the best place for chili dogs and chili spaghetti.

If Ms. Danna knew anything about this trial or Skyline Chili she wouldn't have written this article.  Skyline Chili isn't simply the best "fast food chili" around, it is the best fast food restaurant on the planet, and, as such, is great any time of the year.  As for the jury, as dumb as rocks as they were, disregarding the facts of this case, I won't want them in any restaurant I owned either.  There should be a low against stupidity.... and New Times articles from writers who don't know the facts of articles they write..

These comments make for a variety of reading....some of them just make one shake your head at the ignorance of some people. Average age of Pinellas Cty is 43, btw. The jury did what they were charged to do by the judge....make a judgement based on the evidence supplied by the state. Of the jurors who have spoken, it was not said that Casey was innocent...it was just not enough condusive evidence to PROVE with out doubt she murdered her daughter. Lots of pieces of evidence but they didn't apparently tie together in one neat package. Yes, in my gut I believe Casey killed her daughter. And many of the jurors did too I believe but goes back to "without a doubt".....as our founding fathers set up the boundaries for the law. And any juror can eat at my establishment anytime!

Skyline Chili  Tahnk you for standing up for a child. Takes a lot more courage to stand up for a child then to free a killer so 12 people could have a summer. Great mother casey was. Sleeping with anyone with male parts with Caylee joining them. What a mom!!

Just like murderer's are apparently free to walk the streets and do as they please...restaurant owners have the right to refuse service.  It IS his establishment, and he is free to express himself over this outrage!  Jurors aren't GODS!  They can and DO f*ck up....and WOW did they ever f*ck up this time!

Skyline is a Cincinnati-based restaurant that serves Cincinnati chili. While the city of Cincinnati has a proud history of great chili served over spaghetti at fast-food restaurants, Cincinnati also has a not-so-proud history of looking ridiculous while trying to ban things (Robert Mapplethorpe, Larry Flynt). Surely this guy is from Cincinnati and just trying to rep his home city.

This guy is AWESOME!!!  I'll bet his business has went up and look at all the free advertising he is getting.  This is genius.

How does someone this stupid manage to own a restaurant? Must have inherited it. And recently, too, else it would have been run into the ground already.

It's absolutely ridiculous that people get so fired up about ONE girl out of the THOUSANDS out there neglecting and abusing their children. The REAL problem here is the outrageous (and growing) number of young, teenage girls who don't know how, and don't want to be, responsible mothers. Casey Anthony isn't the only one people!

This nonsense is just pure insanity.  Gotta love that these nut bags calling for the heads of Casey and the jurors like to call themselves "good Americans", but cant seem to get around the fact that this was a LEGAL trial.  Just as it was set up by the founding fathers.  All of their yelping just throws shit on all of their graves.Course not eating chili would probably cut some of that out.

This shows extreme ignorance. The jurors follow the letter of the law and do not vote from what they feel.....it is strictly by the evidence presented. The jurors performed their duty and got it right according to the process.

I therefore band this restaurant due to extreme ignorance of the law.

Because of people like Nancy Grace, people panic. And they do things that make them look guilty instead of notifying police.

Reasonable doubt flies out the window when a mother doesn't report her kid missing for a month. There is nothing reasonable about that piece of trash. I'd WANT to be found guilty even if my kid had accidentally drowned. I can't believe not one of those jurors held fast and stood up and said, this isn't right. Shame on them all! When you look at each piece of evidence, one at a time, they may be able to reasonably doubt....but don't be such fools! Add them up and that's a murdering lying whore. I don't believe in Not guilty by reason of insanity...because you have to be insane in the first place to purposefully unprovoked, harm another human being let alone a child. Dead body, duct taped, hidden, NOT reported missing, lying several different times, oh please...the grandmother researched how to kill someone on the computer....LIAR = guilty! The jurors came back with a verdict that says, yes we are fools and can be confused easily. You just can't fix stupid. I'd rather see a random draw of names for jurors or no more than 2 can be removed by either prosecution or defense. That is truly fair.

Two thumbs up.  One for Skyline Chili, the best fast food around.  The second for a restaurant owner expressing what most of us with an IQ over 30 think.

The restaurant owner exercised his 'constitutional' rights in the same way that casey beat the system under the auspices of the finger flippin slimeball defense hero who tried to tell everyone about how he saved a life and protected her 'constitutional rights'.. If those jurors represent the mainstream of Pinellas county potential jury pool, then every legal beagle of the 26000 hungry lawyers, in the state, should harvest from that same misinformed field of neanderthals. The outcome would have been totally different had the jury been sequested from a city where then average age is less than, and the iq is greater than 78.

Skylines are franchises. A better question is how stupid do you have to be to want to own a Skyline franchise in Florida? I'm sure the juror are looking for solid food after being sequestered for so long anyway. The chances that they'll be craving the slop they serve at skyline is pretty remote.

Ma'ree.....that's just it, you're missing WHY people are "so fired up over one girl out of thousands".....Caylee represents ALL children who have not been given justice.  People are sick and tired of sick and twisted individuals being set free into society!  This is yet one more example, and because it was so high profile, people can't help but be fired up...

Chiliman's not ignorant.  Just pissed off like the rest of us.  The ignoramouses are the jurors who couldn't comprehend "reasonable doubt."

No, not really. Who "works" to make themselves look guilty? Please. You must be from Flori-DUH.

Nancy Grace likes to talk about her "perfect record" as a prosecutor...  too bad almost ALL of her cases were overturned on appeal...  sounds like a dirty prosecutor to me...

Nancy Grace should not be on tv!

It's funny Dave, because it's you who is uninformed and worthy of an IQ test. Perhaps it was the "slimeball" prosecutor who overreached, by charging a stupid, screwed up girl with premeditated murder when there was no evidence to support it? He wanted to make a name for himself with a big, sensational trial on national TV. They could have had her plea to criminally negligent homicide, which is probably what it was, but no, they had to go for the death penalty on TV.

One analyst said it best. If this was a black child, nobody would even know about it, and there would be no big trial on TV. The prosecutor played a game of politics, and he lost.

Nancy Grace has already forgotten about this, and is seeking to move on to her next "Missing White Girl alert" case...  there are more people out there for her to badger into suicide...
