Since it's debut in November 2010, Deck 84 has been full steam ahead with Chef Chuck Gittleman at the helm. Clean Plate Charlie has learned that as of Tuesday the Delray Beach, waterfront jewel in Burt Rapoport's crown is without Chef Chuck. As a 15 year vet in the Rapoport clan, Gittleman was overseeing Bogart's of Boca while running the day to day of the popular hotspot on Atlantic Ave.

The Key West theme eatery was highly anticipated and quickly embraced by the community. Deck 84 has been named Boca Raton Magazine's 2011 Reader's Choice Winner, given multiple nods by the local press, and Chef Chuck took home the coveted title of 2011 Garlic Chef.

Clean Plate Charlie was unable to reach anyone from Deck 84, Bogart's or Rapoport's Restaurant Group for further details regarding Chef Chuck's sudden exit.

You mean "multiple nods but local shills". Nobody credible has said anything good about the place.
