Sublime's apple pie - delicious and cruelty free.
People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals just named Sublime's Apple Crumb Pie ala Mode the best vegan pie in America.

The pie, made with an oatmeal streusel, Granny Smith apples and currants, is totally vegan, as is the ice "cream".

PETA's first-ever ranking of pies was based on the recommendations of staffers and members who named their favorite animal-friendly sweet treats. from restaurants across the country.

PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said "Sublime gets five green stars for meeting Americans' growing demand for fine vegan desserts in the most delicious ways. With all the tasty animal-free options available these days, going vegan is as easy as apple pie."

Sublime is open for dinner daily from Tuesday-Sunday, serving upscale vegan food and spirits. In addition to serving tasty fare that's animal-friendly, Sublime donates 100% of its profits to animal welfare organizations and organizations that promote vegan diets and lifestyles.

If you'd like to give vegan baking a shot, try making Sublime's Vegan Key Lime Pie (recipe after the jump).
