While millions of people will mourn Oprah's wisdom, heart and humor, thousands will mourn..their jobs, including the kitchen staff at Harpo studios.
As in every milestone of human life, food must be served. According to the Colombia Tribune, Oprah's food sendoff is no less spectacular than what fans will see on screen.
The article (written by the daughter of one of Oprah's chefs) claims Oprah's green rooms displayed tables full of varied sushi, sashimi, grilled vegetables, smoked brisket, lobster mac and cheese, mini burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, seared ahi tuna with pickled ginger, mini tenderloin, grilled asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and a lobster canopy: lobster on grilled brioche with a chive and lemon aioli topped with caviar. House made dipping sauces and aiolis filled the space between the platters.
Cost per day? Upwards of $130,000. Oprah, we'll miss you.
