The 16th Annual Wine and Culinary Celebration, April 1, 2011

Eat and drink like king and not as a fool on Friday, a.k.a. April Fools' Day.

The 16th Annual Wine & Culinary Celebration is your ticket to feast on a food and wine pairings culled from over 30 top South Florida restaurants. A few notables catering the cuisine are Café Martorano, Trulucks, Grateful Palate, D'Angelos, da Campo Osteria, Morton's, Hey Cupcake, and The Ambry. The wines are selected by Southern Wine and spirits.

The fest is held at Fort Lauderdale's Museum of Discovery and Science . Start the evening early with VIP tickets ($150) at 6 p.m., when VIPs are invited to a martini reception and then a wine tasting seminar. Or skip the martinis and get a general admission ticket ($85) and head inside the museum's classrooms for the cooking demonstrations at 7:30 p.m. There, you'll sip on wine and see chef Oliver Saucy of Café Maxx, chef Marc Gruverman of The Capital Grille, and chef Sean McDonald of Ilios showing off their culinary skills. When things end at 11 p.m., don't forget to bring home your Riedel wine glass - each attendee gets one free.
