SAIA Opens in Ft. Lauderdale

​SAIA, the new South Asian-inspired restaurant at the B Ocean Ft. Lauderdale Hotel opened this weekend. The restaurant features modern decor and a direct oceanfront view.  The menu is an ecclectic mix of sushi, hot and cool dishes, getting much inspiration from the spices and ingredients of Thailand. Guests are encouraged to dine communally and dishes are prepared to be shared.

Sushi rolls include the Fire Dragon Roll ($18), which consists of shrimp tempura, snow crab topped with spicy tuna and masago and The Ocean Blue Roll ($14), which has eel, avocado, boursin cheese and crab stick.

Hot dishes include the Palm Chicken ($10), slices of chicken breast in a coconut and lemongrass sauce. The Shirome Spice ($14) is a dish comprised of fried white fish morsels in a chili glaze that's flavorful, with just the right amount of heat and spice.

Desserts include lychee cake, green tea ice cream and green tea creme brulee. A large sake selection rounds out the menu. Be sure not to miss an after dinner SAIA sphere, a Japanese single malt whisky (or pour of your choice) over a very cool perfect globe of ice.
