FYI: The ABCs on SAIA at B Ocean in FLL
Named for its location on the corner of Sunrise Boulevard and AIA, the contemporary Asianesque restaurant will feature a teppanyaki grill, sushi bar, open-air kitchen, and panoramic beachfront view.
The menu will include "nouveau sushi" rolls (AKA wackymaki) like the Fire Dragon roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, and snow crab topped with spicy tuna and masago), along with not-quite-so-trendy dishes as tuna, salmon, and whitefish uzuzukuri (thin-sliced fish with garlicky ponzu, scallions, and arugula). There's also an extensive roster of sakes and signature mixological cocktails.
Top toque is Subin Chenkorsorn, who comes to SAIA from a stint as lead sushi chef at SoBe's tres hip Delano and is said to be heavily influenced by Thai street food and travels through Southeast Asia and the Caribbean. Sounds like he could have some chops, IMHO.
