Nick's Apizza Arises in Boca
Along with partner Anthony Giovanniello, Laudano is planning a May debut of the Boca Nick's in Glades Plaza, an open-air mini-mall near the enormous Town Center complex. The same roster of crisp-crusted pizzas will be offered--including the killer white clam pie, made with fresh-shucked littleneck clams--along with Hummel hot dogs, Foxon Park sodas and house-made desserts.
At 4,600 square feet and seating for 150, the new Nick's trumps the space of the old Lake Worth location. Design is by Laudano and local design star Karen Hanlon, who did Racks Downtown Eatery, YOLO and more. It's said to feature a nostalgic vibe with a 1940s-inspired kitchen pantry and ceiling covered with advertising posters from the 1920s and '30s, not to mention an indoor-outdoor bar, to-go window and custom-designed brick pizza oven.
Oh, and btw, "Apizza" is pronounced "a-BEETS." It's a New Haven thing.
