Clean Plate Charlie is excited to announce the first-ever New Times Cupcake Battle as part of the 2011 Las Olas Wine & Food Festival!

On Friday, April 29, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. the baking gloves come off when participating bakeries compete for the esteemed title of best cupcake.

More good news: YOU can be a part of it! Yes, Clean Plate Charlie readers will win a pair of tickets (value of $100 each) to the Las Olas Wine & Food Festival and New Times Cupcake Battle.

Judges provided by New Times will evaluate cupcakes and select winners in two categories: Best Tasting and Best Decorated. Guests of the festival will also get a chance to vote for the cupcake that most tickled their palate in the "Fan Favorite" category.

The celebrated annual Las Olas Wine & Food Festival returns with culinary delights from more than 60 South Florida restaurants, 45 tables of wine and micro brews, cocktails in the Bombay Sapphire Lounge, and live music. The street festival has become a vital fund-raising event with all proceeds benefiting the American Lung Association in Florida.
