BurgerFi, the much-anticipated casual burger restaurant from David Manero, has opened in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. BurgerFi is short for the "burgerfication of the nation." Though it can be argued that the USA is already "burgerfied," Manero and his wife, Lynn, are planning to take over the country with fresh, all-natural Angus beef without fillers, steroids, hormones, or other junk that you really don't want in your food. The result is a quality burger at a reasonable price.

The BurgerFi LED menu gives you burger suggestions.

Burgers, fries, hot dogs, sodas, beer, wine, and concretes (thick frozen custard concoctions) are ordered from space-aged LED displays, which not only flash the standard menu but suggest interesting burger/topping combinations. Burger add-ons range from the classic (American cheese, mayonnaise) to the interesting (sunny-side-up egg, hickory bacon). A quinoa burger is available for vegetarians. Fries are hand-cut and come with toppings like Parmesan, herb, chili, and cheese.

The restaurant is designed by Manero's wife, Lynn, and makes good use of both indoor and outdoor space. The décor is modern, sleek, and green. Tables are made of either recycled wood or plastic milk cartons, and meat hooks are turned into the most fashionable lighting fixtures ever. Even dogs are accommodated at BurgerFi, with doggy leash tie-ups, perfect for securing Fido while you order a burger. Your furry friend is then welcome to dine with you on the outdoor patio.

The Maneros, who also own DeVito, the Office, and Vic & Angelo's, plan to franchise BurgerFi, with the Lauderdale-by-the-Sea location the prototype. Seems like the burgerfication of a nation has already begun.

Not another burger joint. Your second pic tells it all the menu is complicated and in cursive and it's doubtful with the lighting available any one over 40 could read this easily. What marketing guru came up with "burgerfication of the nation" what a strech and hasen't this been done already; many times over? The burgers have an off putting taste which may be traced to the sauce or the grilled onions I requested. I tried another location and did not get this problem. The condiment cups are 1/4 inch tall and subject to spilling. The manager just stood behind the counter and did not come out once to check on customers. The exact opposite experience I had at a franchise store. The music was intollerably loud. The burger wasn't that good therefore, the value wasn't there. The fries were good but not as good as Boardwalk Burger's.If you want "trendy", quasi"upscale" and sizzle over substance: you found your place. The average ticket for a couple is outragous; for what they are charging this place should have servers not counter service. If they intend to add one hundred stores and this is a company store, then good luck. This concept does not appear to be appropriately evolved to be offering it to potential franchisees. Shame on you Dave!

Manero doesn't do burgers well. He should stick to pasta.

Ate here tonight for the first time. I liked it better than Rok Burger. Tasty food, great prices.

How can it be grass fed and prime? There is no such thing. beef takes alot of grain feeding to bring it to Prime grade, what a joke.

Seems a little to cheap for all natural prime angus. I'll give it a try. Looks awful similar to shake shack as well. Manero loves to steal others ideas, and call it his own

Actually the burger was large, but the fries were gigantic! They were shared by three adults and a little boy.

Ate there Saturday, and the frank and hamburger was wonderful. Finally, some good quality semi-fast food is available in the residential Beach area of Ft. Lauderdale.ILV

Gastropub is the world's douchiest word. Thanks for not using it in this story.

Why would she use the word gastropub? It's not a bar or a pub. It's fast food. I think it's a bit hilarious. "Natural" burgers, and then they serve 1500 calorie cheese fries with it. How stupid are people anyway?
