Tomorrow, eight of South Florida's most talented culinary students will compete for the regional title of Almost Famous Chef 2011.

And it's not only the title that these contestants will be fighting for! The winner will be granted an all-expense-paid trip to the finals in Napa Valley, California.

The Grand Prize winner will then be rewarded up to $20,000 and a one year paid apprenticeship; not too shabby for a student just entering the industry.

The dishes will be prepared by chefs who are currently enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. Each participant will have their chance to present their creations to the audience and celebrity judges in hopes that they will make it to the finals.

When: Thursday, January 13, 2011
Time: 6- 8 pm Where: Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts
3221 Enterprise Way Miramar, FL 33025

Please note there are 3 other Culinary schools involved in this competition, as noted by the following paragraph: This year’s San Pellegrino Almost Famous Chef Competition will be hosted by Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Miami on Thursday, January 13, 2011. The competition pitches 3 other area culinary schools: Johnson & Wales University – North Miami, Lincoln Culinary Institute - Palm Beach and Jose A. Santana International School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts. Your article shows that Le Cordon Bleu as the only participant. Please post a correction. Thank you.Joseph A. Paragraph 4 is incorrect as the dishes are being prepared and executed by not only students from Le Cordon Bleu, but teams from Lincoln Culinary Institute, Johnson & Wales, Jose Santana International School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts
