New Jersey Housewife Teresa Giudice to Visit South Florida

Giudice will briefly jet away from New Jersey for South Florida on Thursday, Dec. 16, for Seminole Casino Coconut Creek's Fourth Annual Sweet Dreams 2010.
Giudice, who released her first cookbook, Skinny Italian, earlier this year, will be noshing on desserts and hosting a meet and greet with fellow New Jersey housewife, Caroline Manzo. Giudice will release her next book, Fabulicious, in May 2011. Until then, she gets ready to finish off 2010 with sweets. And seafood.
Clean Plate Charlie: Your first book, Skinny Italian, is a lot about meals you cook for your family. Have you always been a cook, or is it something you've started doing recently?
Teresa Giudice: Cooking has always been around. One thing the cameras didn't show a lot of is that I make dinner every night, but that's because there is a lot of drama to show. You will see a lot more cooking now this season.
What's one meal that is a must-have in your house during the holidays?
Since we're Italian, we have lots of fish. Eight different kinds. A seafood salad, fried shrimp, calamari, mussels, and two different kinds of baccalà. [Editor's note: The Italian holiday celebration, La Vigilia, is traditionally with seven different kinds of seafood, but there isn't a restriction or limit.]
Since eating is a big factor this time of the year, what is one food you can't say no to?
I don't really "say no" to anything. If I see it and I want it, I'll eat it. I love sweets. I have a huge sweet tooth. I think living is all about eating, so I don't say no a lot.
This isn't your first time in South Florida; what is one place you love to eat at while you're in town?
I don't know about a lot of the food, but the Ritz Carlton in South Beach makes theee best mojito I've ever had.
See Teresa Giudice this Thursday, December 16, at Sweet Dreams 2010. Visit the Seminole Coconut Creek website for more details.
