Café de France to Become Carpe Diem
By the end of the year, chef-owner Olivier La Gloahec aims to have completed a major expansion of the chic but tiny eatery, adding some 70 seats on a covered patio and upgrading the kitchen and bathrooms.
An expanded menu is in the works too, retaining its signature traditional French dishes while adding more than two dozen new entrées that wander the culinary globe from Spain and Italy to Asia. Also, look for a larger and more expansive wine list.
Oh, and one more thing...
When all this happens, Café de France will become Carpe Diem (Latin for "seize the day"), which is pretty much what you have to do in the restaurant business if you want to stay in the restaurant business.
