What: Growing Green Communities-Sprouting Ideas for a Green Table is part of a Slow Food National Day of Action to encourage building sustainable communities and food systems. On site will be cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs: Chef Daniel Ramos-Market 17 and Chef Michael Wagner-Lola's on Harrison and four panel discussions; Gardening in Small Spaces, Rain Barrels, Worms! and the Buzz on Bees.
Exhibits include: Farm Fresh Urban Farmers, Green Mission-FAU, Heritage Poultry/Coffey House Farm, Kids Ecology Corps, Localecopia , Palm Beach Beekeepers, Pine Jog Environmental Education Center, Pine Jog Elementary, Sierra Club, Slow Foods Ark of Taste, Tropical and rare fruit, Slow Food in Schools, Surfrider, and Worms! Vital -Earth. There will also be LEEDS tours and Pine Jog Forest tours as well as planting tables, stories and yoga for children. Communal lunch is sponsored by Whole Foods. Keynote by Mario Yanez-Greater Everglades Foodshed, Florida Food Policy Council & founder of the Earth Learning Center.

Admission is $10 for adults $5 for children under 12 and includes lunch. Parking is free.
