Feeding South Florida's Boys of Summer Is Tonight
| Chef Oliver Saucy (right) will cook at the Boys of Summer charity event. |
Tickets are still available for tonight's charity food event, being held at Florida Builder Appliances (1742 W. Atlantic Blvd., Pompano Beach). The tickets cost just $20 per person, 100 percent of which goes to Feeding South Florida, an organization that distributes more than 1.8 million pounds of food per month to homeless shelters, soup kitchens, emergency food programs, and more. (It was founded in 1981 and was formerly known as the Daily Bread Food Bank.)
The cook-off starts at 6 p.m. and runs till 8:30. You'll get a chance to watch these top chefs in action, sample their food, and pair it with a selection of Summer wines from Starmont and Merryvale wineries in California. Eating a meal at any of their restaurants will set you back way more than a Jackson, and you won't get a kitchen-side seat either. Not to mention if you go, you'll not only be feeding yourself but those in need too.
