Tonino Lamborghini Caffe Corsa Closes in Gulfstream Park
The restaurant located in the new, outdoor shopping mall the Village at Gulfstream Park married authentic Italian food with the kind of sleek design the younger Lamborghini is known for. We praised the food made by
head chef Paolo Del Papa in a full review of the place in May but also noted that the name, concept, and design were confusing and ill-conceived. It could be that customers never made sense of the place, which, despite seemingly being named after a luxurious Italian automobile, lacked any real reference to the car itself.
According to a comment we received on our website, a padlock and a notice of past-due rent was posted on the door as early as June 24 by law firm Holland & Knight. Ronnie Moro, a representative of the Village told New Times of the closing, "The Village at Gulfstream Park does find it unfortunate that Tonino Lamborghini's Caffe Corsa closed, but it was strictly a business decision made by its owners." As for what will go into the space next, there's nothing particular lined up at the moment. Moro continued, "The space is in a highly desirable location and The Village's leasing team is already in contact with several prospective tenants."
