Mango Mania at International Mango Fest This Weekend at Fairchild Gardens
Be very British and wear a raincoat - the only proper way to eat a mango - since there will be a vast variety of the tropical fruits representing those grown around the world available for tasting.
Noted Indian cookbook author and expert Madhur Jaffrey will be there as well for lectures and demos.
Events begin tomorrow, Friday, with a Culinary Conference day, $60 for guests.
Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., chefs and lecturers give demos and talks about mangoes; admission is $20 for adults and $15 for kids 6 to 17.
Sunday is the Mango Brunch at 11 a.m., with more than seven chefs participating (Susser and Militello also will cook for this). Tickets are $100 or $80 for Fairchild members.
