The digs: Set in a historic house, Triple Eight Lounge has bright-red walls, a first-class music system, and a casual vibe. The crowd tends to stick to the long indoor bar or the outside garden bar, but there is also seating out front of the house in case you fancy something a little quieter. Music has always been a central focus of this bar, and the staff will happily consider your request or spend time chatting about the tunes.

Kurt Alderman, a longtime fan of the Falcon House, recently took it over. He and the team have gotten rid of the linen tablecloths, lured the favorite bar staff back behind the bar, and made sure the menu is as tasty and as well-executed as people had come to expect from this joint. He renamed it Triple Eight Lounge at the Falcon House and added a few modern details. The name may be slightly different, but it is fair to say that the Falcon House that people knew and loved is back!
