Happy Hour: Zed451

• It is a nice place for chill out. Zed451 Boca Raton looks so good with its wonderful interiors. I like this place because its cool and quit place.  

• I went to Zed for the first time last Friday for happy hour. The outside bar, cozy and comfy, was a perfect setting for enjoying the most fabulous selection of appetizers AT HALF PRICE!!! I recommend the flat bread with lamb; the mussels are out of this world, and that calamari is exceptional as well. I've been on the wagon, but tonite I break my fast and will have some cocktails beofre heading on to the Monkey Bar at Boca CC.

• Jill, Rarely (if ever) do I comment on my own posts, even after someone else has. But I would like to say thank you for your input. I would hope that my Happy Hour posts are viewed by the drinkers and the eaters, since they commonly include alcohol and food specials alike. I'm not discrediting their drinks. In fact, I was happy with my drink. As you can tell, I was pretty much *only* happy with the drink (and the BLT sliders). The rest of the food wasn't good, and the pushy service to get me out of a restaurant when I had just put my food order in didn't make for a happy Dori. I would never compare to McDonald's (do they even have a happy hour? AWESOME if they do!) but I do believe that for what it's worth, I wasn't picking apart the drinks vs. the food. I was discussing my entire happy hour experience. I'm glad to know that your experiences have been better than mine...

• Zed451 is one of my favorite happy hours in all of Broward and Palm Beach. I would happily make the 30-minute trip from Fort Lauderdale for a taste of one of those sliders, especially for the crazy low price of $1.50 each. It might not be cheap compared to McDonald's, but it's not fair (to either restaurant) to make such a comparison. And if you think $5 for a glass of really good wine is too much, you can check out all the happy hours on Las Olas, Himmarshee and Mizner Park -- and I guarantee you're not going to find anything less expensive or better in terms of quality. Trust me. I've tried it.
