• Dennis, I'm actually very happy to have regular commenters on the site like you, regardless of whether they agree with me or not. But let me sort of set this record straight here for you: 1) I reviewed Ilios last year based on two visits in which I sampled well over half of the entire menu. 2) I always dine anonymously and do so without bais or any incentive to skew my thoughts one way or another. 3) I've written nothing on Ilios between the time of the review and the Burger Battle (and even then all I wrote was a the above). So your perception that I take every opportunity to slam them is erroneous at best. 4) Not to hold myself to too high of an importance (I'm simply a restaurant critic, after all, not a surgeon), but I feel it's my responsibility to be honest with my readers at all times. If, after my visits, I feel a place deserves a poor review, I will give them one and do so in a way that properly explains why. Not to knock your review -- I commend the fact that you very tirelessly cover the restaurant scene in Fort Lauderdale on your site -- but I have to raise question with your methods. The basis for your opinion was formed by one lunch time visit during which you sampled one dish. You did not (at least as indicated) dine with other people who might give their opinion or allow you to sample a wide variety. You did not (at least as indicated) visit the restaurant more than one time to test its performance under multiple conditions. I take accusations against my critical ethics very seriously. • I wasn't defending them at all. Just noting an obvious bias. I actually went there last week. My assessment is that its an overpriced pool bar.

• Nor do you miss a chance to defend it. Despite that, I don't see a review up on your site. Maybe you should do one so you can formally tell everyone how wrong they are.

• Well "nauseating" is your word. And you certainly didn't miss a chance to trash ilios, now did you?

• You might not have noticed that's a link to an article by Eric Barton, not myself.

• Obviously John has some issue with Ilois thats beyond the food. Their burger wasn't bad; I kind of liked it. Maybe it was that New Times Readers Poll Best Restaurant Certificate they had displayed on their table that ticked you off?
