Food Events on the Radar
• Check this out,Tweeters: New Times is holding its first Tweet-Up on June 11 at Trina in the Atlantic Hotel. Twitter fans (and fans of the paper, or food, for that matter) can sign up to attend here or by tweeting the twtvite URL. Comers will get free food and cocktails courtesy of the chic bar and lounge. Takes place from 7 to 9 p.m.
• The Capital Grille's George Miliotes is one of the world's few master sommaliers (there are fewer than 200 total). This summer, he's put together a pretty sweet deal at the upscale steak-house chain. From June 7 through September 5, Miliotes will offer a Master Winetasting at each of the restaurants. The cost is $25 and gives you "generous pours" of up to 11 rare and exciting wines. The first six weeks will feature selections from Napa Valley, including a Bancroft Ranch Merlot; a Cabernet Sauvignon from Sella & Mosca Marchese di Villamarina, and other Italian varietals; and pinot noir and other varietals from the Villa Maria Cellar Selection of New Zealand. The selection will change throughout the event, but the price will not. Not a bad deal, especially at a restaurant that cellars more than 4,000 bottles.
