Take six truckloads of South Beach-style lounge furniture and custom lighting, food and booze booths, live music, a fashion show, and a samba parade, dump them all on the Great Lawn in downtown Delray, charge everybody $15 to get in ($20 at the door, $75 for VIP tickets) and you've got the first Chillounge Night on Florida's southeast coast.

The event, set to go off Friday, May 21, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., is exactly what it sounds like -- an evening of lounging around and chilling out with plenty of stuff to eat, more than plenty of stuff to drink, and all kinds of eye and ear candy to keep you occupied.

Chillounge Night is the brainchild of Sarasota gallery owner Rainer Scheer, who a couple of years back was looking for a way to goose up the nightlife on Sarasota's Gallery Row. So he rented a bunch of loungey furniture, got local restaurants and musicians involved, and created an outdoor nightclub, AKA Chillounge Night. It was so successful that it became an annual event in Sarasota and spread out to Fort Myers, St. Petersburg, Tampa, and Orlando.

On tap at the Delray Chillounge will be flamenco guitarist Nicholas Marks, Haitian designer Shy Figaro, a Brazilian samba parade by Paulo Gualano, booths for catered entrées and desserts (from $4 to $10), and cocktails ($7 to $12), wine ($6), and beer ($4). Oh, and it will benefit Nat King Cole Generation Hope, which helps fund music education in South Florida.

You've got to be 21 to get in, and if you want details and/or tickets, go here. And, you know, chill...
