"In the Land of Misfits, Pirates and Cooks": Cookbook Signing Tonight!

biminibread.jpg
Michael Bennett, currently executive chef at Bimini Boatyard -- home of the famous Bimini Bread --  will sign copies of his cookbook -- with the adventurous title In the Land of Misfits, Pirates, and Cooks -- at the Fort Lauderdale outpost of Barnes & Noble (2051 N. Federal Highway [U.S. 1], Fort Lauderdale; 305-851-3441) at 6 p.m. today.

Bennett has said "I cook Caribb-ican style," meaning that he makes America's favorite entrées and seafood "hit up" with a Caribbean twist. According to a news release, the cookbook was developed as a nod to everyone who knows that "curry powder or a jerk glaze are not the only examples of a Caribbean chef's repertoire." Amen.

There's a little bit -- but not much -- more info on Bennett's website, foodbrats.com.
