Carmine's Gourmet Market Opens Burger and Pizza Joints

Sushi seems to be a starting point for Palm Beach chefs. Sushi Jo branched out with a Thai place (along with a few more sushi spots), and now the Carmine behind the Ocean Grill and Sushi Bar has opened a pair of restaurants: CG Burgers and Carmine's Coal Fired Pizza. You'll find both joints at 4575 Military Trail in Jupiter -- just north of the Ocean Grill and Carmine's Gourmet Market in Palm Beach Gardens.
Carmine's new menus appear to infuse the freshness and tradition we've come to love at the Ocean Grill and the Gourmet Market. The burger place offers the namesake patties with creative toppings, including the Napa Valley burger with goat cheese, arugula, and balsamic honey mustard ($5.50) and the Cuban burger with smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard ($5.50). Rounding out the menu is a handful of other sandwiches and sides, including garlic fries and sweet potato fries.
At the pizza place, Carmine's offers a design-your-own-pizza menu with toppings that include eggplant, salami, prosciutto, and meatball to land atop your traditional pie made with San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella. A large with three toppings at $2 each runs $19.95. The menu is chock-full of antipasti, pasta, flatbreads, and risotto as well as traditional Italian entrées. A few we can't wait to try: the gamberi fra diavolo ($17.95), the meatballs and cheese panini ($7), and the bistecca alla griglia ($19.95).
