Havana Hideout Hosts Brew-Off

​Unleash your inner Tom Colicchio and sample the suds of 12 of the area's best amateur brewmeisters this Sunday, February 28, at Lake Worth's always fun 'n' funky Havana Hideout, where chef-owner Chrissy Benoit is hosting the first of a planned series of Top of the Hops brew-offs. 

From 1 to 4 p.m. local brewers will be pouring their best beers, from German-style lagers to Belgian-style ales to an only in SoFla coconut-infused porter, all partnered with a buffet selection of Benoit's brew-friendly noshes. Think ribs, pretzels, nuts, that sort of thing.

Once you're done sipping and snarfing, cast your vote for best beer; votes will be tallied and merged with the verdict of Palm Beach Post brew dude Dan Oliver to determine the winner, who will receive a $100 grand prize, custom-made tap handle and other good stuff.

The whole thing will cost you all of 10 bucks, but since both beer and attendees are limited (the latter to 175 thirsty Colicchio wannabes), it's a good idea to make those reservations now at havanahideout@yahoo.com.
