Three Things to Do With an Avocado
Besides the blatantly obvious, avocados are good for more than just guacamole. It's also more than just a topping to a sandwich to deem it a "California" meal. Good for anything, from snack time to dessert, here are three (almost surprising) ways to utilize one delicious fruit. Note: Personal preference is Hass avocados.

I have it on good authority that bacon in damn near anything is godforsaken delicious. Stuffed in avocados? Hello party, welcome to my mouth.
8 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
4 medium avocados, ripe and unpeeled.
½ cup of butter
¼ cup of brown sugar
¼ cup of white wine vinegar
¼ cup of garlic puree
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Slice the avocados in half, remove pits and brush with lemon juice.
Fill the avocado with bacon.
Combine all of the remaining ingredients and heat to boiling to produce the sauce.
Drizzle sauce over avocados and serve as desired.

2. Fried Egg and Avocado Sandwich
Most weekdays, I'm lucky I wake up with enough time to make coffee, let alone get food before me and I-95 have our daily love affair. Occasionally, I can squeeze in a bagel with cream cheese and avocado before heading out the door. On the weekends, I take it easy and listen to Paula Deen. The woman may have a strange infatuation with butter, but she's on point with this breakfast sandwich.

My younger brother - a cook and Food Network enthusiast - told me a couple years ago that Alton Brown makes this amazing avocado ice cream. My brain didn't process the concept: an after-dinner avocado treat? I was flabbergasted. That is, until he made it for me.
