Max's Offers Change You Can Believe In
The longtime Mizner Park standby, which still dishes better food than 90 percent of its local competition, is offering a three-course meal for only $18 to $26 -- not just one or two days a week or two or three hours a day but all night Sunday through Thursday and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
And it's not just three or four dishes designed to clear the funky stuff out of the walk-in. It's practically the whole damned menu, from starters like shrimp and chicken firecracker rolls and one of the best caesar salads in town to entrees ranging from half an herb-roasted Bell & Evans chicken and a wood-grilled pork chop with applewood-smoked bacon mac 'n' cheese to pistachio-crusted grouper and a monster Kobe beef meatball with whole wheat spaghetti and San Marzano tomato sauce. There's dessert too: chocolate chip blondie sundae, mango and passionfruit trifle, New York-style cheesecake among them.
Oh, and one more thing. You want something to drink with your cheap dinner? Cocktails made with house spirits cost all of $2, while selected bottles of red or white wine cost $4 per couple. That gets my vote.
