This year's
Best Of winner for
Best Cheese Steak went to Mr. Nick's, a sandwich stand that's held its ground along Andrews Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale for more than 30 years now. You can read the description of Mr. Nick's award-winning cheese steak
here, or just take a look at pics shot about 20 minutes ago as I was scarfing another one of those puppies down for lunch. At $5.50 for a small steak, this is one affordable, delicious meal. Bon appetit.

The cheese melts perfectly into the meat, forming a creamy, molten hot filling. The other thing you might be able to clean from this porn-esque pic is the small flecks of green herbs you see inside the cheese steak. That's because Mr. Nick's adds a blend of garlic, herbs, and spices to its meat as it cooks, adding another layer of subtle-yet-effective flavor to the already kick-ass steak. Call it an aberration, call it unconventional, but it works.

There's plenty of meat on Mr. Nick's cheese steaks.

A burger, for good measure.
